This article is for people who:

・want to be able to hold the basic chords (G, D, A)
・want to be able to play simple songs
In previous article, I explained how to play chords by looking at chord diagrams. As I explained in the previous article, you can play a song without memorizing the chords by looking at the chord diagram and playing the chords. To learn how to play songs while looking at chord diagrams, try playing some basic chords and get the hang of playing the chords.
Here, we will explain the most important G, D, and A chords. In fact, you will be able to play a simple song using this chord and the C chord introduced in the previous article.

(1) Basic tips on how to press

We also explained the basic way to play the C chord. There are two reasons why the sound is not clear.
i) The string is not pressed close to the fret.
ii)The fingers that are holding down the other strings are touching the strings.
Details are provided in “(3) Tips for cleaning code” in the article above.

(2) How to hold the G chord

Press the 3rd fret of the 6th string with your ring finger.

Press the 2nd fret of the 5th string with your middle finger.

Press the 3rd fret of the 1st string with your little finger.

Once you can press them all, play all the strings from string 6 to string 1.

Check the sound

As explained in “(1) Basic pressing method”, i)Press each string with your fingertips as close to the frets as possible, and ii)with your fingers raised as much as possible.

If you don’t know how to read a chord diagram, I explained how to read it in another article. Please refer to that as well.

Once you can press them all, play all the strings from string 4 to string 1. Be careful not to play the 5th or 6th string, as this may result in an unnatural sound when playing a song. check the sound

(4) How to hold the A chord Press the 2nd fret of the 4th string with your index finger. With his middle finger he presses the third fret of the third string. With his ring finger he presses the second fret of the second string. Again, press each string with your fingertips, 1) as close to the fret as possible, and 2) with your fingers raised as much as possible. check the sound

You may not get a good sound at first. As you keep practicing, you’ll get a better sound, so I don’t think you need to be too nervous at first. At the beginning of this article, I mentioned that you can play a simple song, but in the next article I will introduce how to play that song.
